Our guests at the Lodges over the Easter holidays have enjoyed bottle feeding the lambs and playing with the sheep dog puppies. Spring is a great time of year to enjoy the start of new life and sunshine on the farm.
This time of year is busy on the farm as our flock of ewes give birth to their new born lambs. The ewes are watched around the clock and some are given help if needed when their lambs are born. Some lambs sadly loose their mums or perhaps the ewe cannot suckle twins or triplets. In these instances we bottle milk feed the lambs until they go out to the fields. These lambs are called “tiddling” lambs and this year we have 6 tiddling lambs! Thank you to our guests who helped with the feeding and played with the puppies. Our wildlife pond has also seen the arrival of baby ducklings, who are a little camera shy, they are enjoying the warm sunny days.
