We are very proud to be runners up in the 2013 National Tourism Awards for Wales in the Best Place to Stay – Self Catering Category.
The Awards scheme was set up by Visit Wales in partnership with the Wales Tourism Alliance and run by Quadrant Media Communications, to showcase the very best that Wales has to offer in the tourism industry. Over 420 entries from accredited businesses were looked at by the judging panel and during the summer, visits were made to the short-listed businesses, from which the top 3 were chosen as finalists.
Speaking on behalf of the Pugh family, Kerena says “We are all so proud to have reached the finals, amongst entries with outstandingly high standards. Wales really has a lot to boast about when it comes to hospitality and I would like to thank the team at Lôn Lodges for their continuing hard work in providing the best holiday experience for our guests”.
When asked what the Judges were looking for and what this recognition meant, Kerena replied “finalists were chosen for offering the best quality, value for money, innovation, customer service, comfort, hospitality and a memorable experience. We feel very honoured to be recognised, and would also like to pay tribute to local service providers, businesses and local people, all of which make this area a special place to visit”.
An Awards ceremony and Gala dinner was held on Thursday 21st November at Venue Cymru, Llandudno, at which the winners of each category were announced. The evening was hosted by broadcaster and radio DJ, Aled Haydn Jones and an evening of dining, entertainment and celebration was enjoyed by everyone.
